Andhra Pradesh (AP) Degree, B.Tech, PG and Professional Courses Final Semester Exams Likely to be Cancelled

The Higher Education Department of Andhra Pradesh is likely to cancel B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Tech, PG and professional courses final semester exams. Students are expected to be promoted on the basis of marks in previous semesters and mid-term exams.



The Higher Education Department of Andhra Pradesh will soon issue an official notification with regard to the cancellation of final semester exams for Degree (BA/ B.Sc/ B.Com), B.Tech, PG and other professional courses. The Department discussed the possibilities of conducting final semester exams with the VCs of all state universities. However, the VCs expressed that it is difficult to conduct the exams amid Covid-19 scare. Due to the rapid rise in Covid-19 cases across the state, the Vice-Chancellors supported the cancellation of final semester exams. Students can be promoted based on previous semester marks, mid-term exams/ viva-voce etc.

The final decision is yet to be taken in this regard. The Department of Higher Education, Andhra Pradesh will consult AP CM, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and take a call on the postponement of final semester exams. The decision is expected to be out shortly.

Apart from the final year, the state government will not conduct exams for first, second/ third-year students and promote them to the next year. The exams for these students may be conducted after the reopening of colleges and universities. The decision whether to conduct exams or not shall be taken after the commencement of the academic session.
